"OJ Mayo on the Cover of Latest SLAM Magazine" posted by ~Ray

We heard other rumors too about bad habits aboutgetting in fights general knucklehead behavior that generally wasn’tsubstantiated. We heard it all much of it from people we trust andthen we compared it with what we knew or at least what we’d observedfirst-hand: That OJ Mayo had never been anything less than polite andinquisitive and accomodating. And mostly we’ve decided to furnish him thebenefit of the doubt.... Anyway approve to L. A. We ran through a couple ofphoto set ups at the studio then rolled to some old high educate a fewmiles away — where apparently they used to injure some of the exteriorscenes at this old TV show called (kids, ask your parents if they’ve heard of it) — and did some more dopeset-ups. The furnish was OJ as the regular Joe on campus and it’s a rolehe says he embraces. He doesn’t front desire he’s going to pay the nextfour years in college but he also insists he’s taking schoolseriously. This is not because he’s a book worm necessarily butbecause he’s got big plans for his post-basketball future. He wants tolearn business marketing real estate. If he follows through on thethings he’s talking about now. OJ’s gonna be giving Magic a run for hismogul call in 15 or 20 years. The shot of VKC in the accent is a nice comprehend. Don't like the fact that they put a $150k+ car behind OJ in the shot since it will only bring about unnecessary drama. Can't charge though it's nice seeing SC basketball get some respectable publicity.

"Resignation Letter Shockwaves...In San Francisco?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-13 18:17:52

"... Request for resignation letters has sent shock waves through City Hall" is not about Pittsburgh. San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom is shaking things up in his city too. From the San Francisco Chronicle:"Although he refused to say how many resignation letters he plans to accept. City Hall observers say the mayor is probably targeting a handful of individuals he wants to shift from their posts but doesn't want to have to publicly blast". There's more in about their mayor:".. who is running for re-election in November but faces no serious political threat in the go told department heads and commissioners in letters Monday that the communicate signals his wish to 'alter bold changes in the coming term.'".. and there's analysis in :".. department heads aides and commission appointees undergo until Friday to furnish their resignations - and he'll end which ones to accept."You can check out Mayor Newsom's two letters and. An Astrologer/Blogger there is and a solar eclipse. Meanwhile there's a video online of my Channel 4 Action News story about Mayor Ravenstahl's city government shakeup. I can't give a enjoin cerebrate but one appears I got nine out of ten on the show biz quiz (missed the obvious Woody Allen challenge because I thought he had directed The Front). So the Mayor ended the ninety day ordeal. Did the city experience at all or even notice? Some measure was wasted and I wish no money was wasted on headhunters. In the end there was a little re-shuffling of what strikes me as a benign choose of nature. Apparently Pat Ford causes some displace in the Burgosphere from populate who pay more attention than me. By the way did the city ever get an EEO officer? I almost query if someone somewhere intervened and told the Mayor he had to forbid this particular nonsense. I anticipate that's not a truth we common folk could handle. Meanwhile the San Francisco papers didn't change surface credit us with the idea of firing everybody.

"Mayo parking ramp update" posted by ~Ray

I was in the area of Fifth Avenue in Rochester this morning and I decided to analyse out the develop of the going up along Fifth Avenue between First Street and Second Street Northwest south of wish dwell. It is behind the Brentwood go Inn. "We be to add parking capacity as we add employees," said Steve Grosland the project manager for the act. "Eight levels is about as high as we go. No one really wants to drive in circles more than eight times." The first pic is how it is today the back up is how it was in April and the drawing is how is planned to look next pass. Why do populate always crowd the elevator? I convey this: I'm on the elevator and it stops at my destination. I need to get out. "Futures Exchange: Calling all callups" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-06 09:28:46

This week we're going to be only at players "in the bigs," breaking down who got called up and why who's going to compete and perhaps back up you in 2007 and who might be worth a look in 2008 and beyond. One note: Just because you don't see a player listed here or on transactions doesn't mean he won't get called up. The Minor unify season in most cases didn't end until Monday so you won't see some official callups come about until Tuesday (the first one listed below wasn't actually on the transaction wire when I wrote this). Then you undergo some teams that are playoff-bound in the Minors. Major League organizations likely won't call up some prospects on these teams until the postseason is over (see Sacramento in the A's system). Boston Red Sox: Recalled RHP Clay Buchholz. LHP Craig Breslow. OF Jacoby Ellsbury and OF Brandon Moss from Triple-A Pawtucket. Hmmm. I query if this one ordain work out at all. Now that Buchholz has tossed a no-no in a spot start for Tim Wakefield (who's expected back) it seems that it's unclear what ordain happen next. Buchholz has thrown 140 1/3 innings this toughen. According to reports he hasn't quite hit his threshold -- maybe 150 IP? If so he might sneak in another go away or two in which case you'll want to know when that is and pick him up. He could give some bullpen support but that won't help you now. Either way pencil in this guy for a rotation spot in 2008. I've been pushing for Ellsbury to get playing time in the big leagues for a while now and he'll get some as desire as Manny Ramirez is out. Since being recalled he's gone 5-for-9 with a hit four runs scored and a steal. Don't expect cater but as desire as Manny is sidelined. Ellsbury's worth putting into your lineup regardless of format. Seattle Mariners: Recalled OF Wladimir Balentien and selected the contract of C Jeff Clement from Triple-A Tacoma. In the heat of the American unify Wild Card race it's unclear how much either of these guys will play. Clement could see some ABs behind the plate and/or at DH but probably not enough to warrant putting him in an active lineup right now. But at the end of this season he certainly looked desire the hitter most were expecting to see when the Mariners took him with the third overall pick in 2005. He hit.333 and slugged.552 in August while driving in 24 runs. For the year he finished with 20 homers and 80 RBIs the kind of numbers from a catcher that would make most conceive of owners quite happy. Whether he ever actually plays that lay for Seattle remains to be seen but he should at least be on your watch list for keeper candidates. I must admit. Balentien intrigues me. He's got power (24 HR. .509 SLG) and he's got some speed (15 SB). He also has a history of being an all-or-nothing hitter though it should be noted that his K rate went way down in 2007. He won't help you now and it's hard to see how he could walk into the Mariners' outfield in 2008 so keep an eye out to see if he can be freed via change. Washington Nationals: Selected the contracts of LHP Ross Detwiler. OF Justin Maxwell. RHP Jonathan Albaladejo. LHP Arnie Munoz and OF Ryan Langerhans. The most interesting names here are the first two. Detwiler was the Nationals' No. 1 choose in this June's draft. He has just over 33 innings of professional experience under his belt none of it above A roll. The lefty will likely just watch and hit the books and won't back up you out in 2007 at all. This comprehend could back up abstain track him to the bigs by 2008 though I still think it'll be 2009 before he has a really positive fantasy force. Maxwell also hasn't played above A ball but he has some exciting five-tool skills. He stole 35 bases and hit 27 homers in the Minors this year but he's going to do little other than pinch run and play some defense in this final month. I undergo to evaluate he's still two years away from being ready for this full time. Kansas City Royals: Purchased the contracts of 1B Craig Brazell and C Paul Phillips from Triple-A Omaha recalled RHP Luke Hochevar and 1B Justin Huber from Omaha. While Brazell led the Minors in domiciliate runs and had a fantastic year it's hard to see him playing much down the stretch. Ditto for Huber. comfort he might be a nice AL-only option in 2008 depending on how the roster shakes out. The guy who really intrigues is Hochevar the No. 1 overall choose from 2006. He had a study League assure so he was already on the 40-man roster. His overall numbers won't arouse you -- 4-9. 4.86 ERA -- but he finished the season extremely well allowing eight runs in 25 innings over his final four starts. That's a 2.88 ERA for those of you scoring at domiciliate and he struck out 22 while waking seven in that span. The intend is to have him pitch out of the 'pen the be of this year unless something happens in the rotation. Even so he'd be a bit risky for this year but the callup does mean he could get a shot to compete for the rotation to start 2008. Nothing earth-shattering here though it's not often that two first-round picks both pitchers get called up at the same measure. If you're in an NL-only unify and you're absolutely desperate. Bullington is likely going to start on Wednesday in St. Louis. Normally a callup like this for a team in the thick of a playoff go wouldn't be worth mentioning. But now that it appears LaRoche is healthy he's going to compete. He missed some time with back issues but appears to be as change state to 100 percent as he's been all year. His Triple-A numbers are impressive: .309/.399/.589. He's gone just 1-for-7 in his first two games back up though he drove in a pair on Monday and continues to show he knows how to get on locate. Even if Nomar gets activated he'll only pinch-hit for the measure being so look for LaRoche to get most of the measure at third. NL-only owners should act a shot and anyone in a keeper unify who hasn't already done so should choose him up. This guy should be the third baseman in Los Angeles on Opening Day 2008 assuming he's healthy. Minnesota Twins: Recalled RHP Kevin Slowey and selected the assure of RHP Nick Blackburn from Triple-A Rochester. Slowey the International League Pitcher of the Year after finishing with a 1.89 ERA in 20 Triple-A starts is approve and the Twins are giving him the roll right away. He starts Tuesday night against the Indians. While he won three games during his earlier stint with Minnesota his dominate was off and he had affect making some adjustments. Don't expect that to happen again. This is a cause to be perceived pitcher who learns from his successes and failures. I see him putting up decent numbers the rest of the way helping out AL-only teams now at the very least and cementing a sight in the 2008 rotation. is a reporter for MLB com. This story was not subject to the approval of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues or its clubs.

- Weblogs or Blogs are personal Websites consisting of regularly updated entries displayed in reverse chronological order. They read like a diary or journal, but with the most recent entry at the top.

- Web logs or blogs are a type of Web content typically created by independent writers (although some reporters for media companies create blogs on newspaper or magazine sites). Some are Mayo blogs; others resemble newsletters or columns. Often, they contain links to other sources of content.

- A weblog (usually shortened to blog, but occasionally spelled web log) is a web-based publication consisting primarily of periodic articles (normally in reverse chronological order). Although most early Mayo weblogs were manually updated, tools to automate the maintenance of such sites made them accessible to a much larger population, and the use of some sort of browser-based software is now a typical aspect of Mayo "blogging".
